Safety Initiatives

Providing a safe learning, working and living environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors is our priority.

Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Resources and Training

Staff members across the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion offer a variety of training for members of the 91ÌÒÉ« community. Training can be requested by using the online request form.

Hardesty Festival of Ideas

The 2020-2021 lecture series examined social justice issues through diverse lenses with guest speakers Peter Harvey, W. Kamau Bell, Chris Herren, Clementine Wamariya and Mary Marantz.

Higher Level Training

Higher Level is a training series designed to empower the Mountaineer family to take ownership of the role each of us plays in promoting an inclusive campus culture.

LiveSafe App

LiveSafe enables direct and discreet two-way communication with 91ÌÒÉ« Police using text, picture, video and audio. It also lets you virtually walk your friends and family home with SafeWalk.

Public Incident Report Form

If you have witnessed or have knowledge of what you think may be a violation of the Campus Student Code, you can contact the Office of Student Conduct to discuss the matter with someone or submit a complaint through their online form.

Report Child Abuse or Neglect

Trust your gut feeling. If you suspect any type of child abuse or neglect, including physical or sexual abuse, report it immediately by filling out the University's online form.

Safe Zone Training

All faculty, staff and students — especially student organization leaders and those interested in advocacy — are encouraged to attend LGBTQ+ and Transgender Safe Zone Trainings for necessary knowledge and tools to serve as allies to the LGBTQ community on campus.

University Police

The University Police Department works to make 91ÌÒÉ« a safe community for everyone.

Would You? Bystander Campaign

“Would You?" focuses on anti-hazing, medical amnesty laws and bystander intervention resources to better equip students to help in critical and potentially life-threatening situations.

91ÌÒÉ« Alert is an emergency notification system for the Morgantown campus.
